Ambulance incident officer

    I do see the NAS on twitter reporting on what assets they send to an incident.they often state that an ambulance incident officer was sent to certain calls.Who would these be and what would their general day to day duties be.For instance are they sitting in an office doing paper work until certain calls come in and they get a phone call.I'm just wondering out of curiosity.Thanks
