Wipers stopped working.. Stuck in up position on VW Beetle

    Any ideas what wrong

    When I turn them on... I don't hear any motor noise etc to indicate that something us trying to happen

    Have looked thru my fuses and all look ok

    Any ideas of what to do next

    I suppose that's a trip to mechanic then????

    It being XMas Eve today... It be next week at this stage to get one

    No worries.....will just have to hope it stays dry!!

    Just ensure that the engine hood (bonnet) is closed properly as there is an inhibit switch incorporated in this, its worth a try.

    Switch on the wipers, check under the bonnet for signs of movement as the wiper arm may have dislocated from its socket.
    If it has, you may need a pulley extractor to insert the arm back into the socket

    Wiper relays give trouble on vw's from the late 90's to mid 00's

    Swap temporarily the wiper fuse with another of same rating, to make sure it's not the fuse.
