Frank: Is said to hit around new years eve and has the crowd in the weather forum a bit worried. And I just saw another link to it somewhere and y'know when you see storms on radar and they are severe when shown as red and purple? well Frank is black!!

Anyway - After Frank we have

    Gertrude
    Henry
    Imogen
    Jake
    Katie
    Lawrence
    Mary
    Nigel
    Orla
    Phil
    Rhonda
    Steve
    Tegan
    Vernon
    Wendy

I like Tegan - Tegan just sounds like she'd blow ye all night!!

So who do you think will do the most damage?

If storm Lawrence is ever referred to Storm Lawrence I will be suprised.
We all know it's going to be Larry.

We should name them after old retired wrestlers. Instead of storm Clodagh and storm Frank we could have storm macho man Randy Savage or storm the honkytonk man. Would make the weather reports a bit more exciting.

When it comes to Storm Hurricane and Storm Typhoon things might get confused.

When did storms start getting named? I know hurricanes always got named but it never use to be the case just for bad weather, did it?

Next one is male so, Freddie for no reason.

Then the female one would have to be Grace. A lovely misnomer for a storm.

But they were hardly going to turn down the chance to use A for Abigail as the very first name for storm.

Why are they naming mediocre events now ? Is it to play up climate change ?

    http://donegalweatherchannel.com/2015/12/24/storm-frank-looks-set-to-hit-ireland-next-wednesday-new-years-eve/
Out of all the storm this year this one is looking the most worrying as the wind speeds and gusts are not severe but violent.

I have been watching this now the past week and have been updating on it in the forecast every morning.

I will update from day to day if there is any changes on this area of low pressure which is 945mb which would make it one of the worst events in year to hit Ireland but as I say this all depends on what it does on the model runs over the next few day.

One thing we do not want is that black area which is the most violent winds in the system to sweep over land and keep it out at sea.

Just about to say we've only had one proper storm.
You may have hit the perverbial nail on the perverbial head.

They should name most of them "Don't build houses on flood plains"

Oddly enough the public chose the names, so you've only yourselves to blame.
