queues in shops

I was in my local easons buying some cards today.
it was busy the counter is 30 odd feet long with a check out on each end and one in the middle.

there were queues on the two end checkouts. but only one person being served at the middle one .
I was browsing around the store as I made my way to the checkout , I ended up coming out in the middle of the counter. there was no one around me for 6 feet all around so I joined the back of the queue for the middle checkout.

the cashier then told me there was a queue . clearly there was not for his checkout. I silently complained to my self and went to the back of the queue for the other check out. . anyway the next person he served was a long transaction and I was next to be served at the check out . he called but I laughed and shook my head.

I wouldn't mind if there was a queue system but there wasn't. it was more his attitude and rudeness that annoys me more .

But I'd understand customer facing staff losing their patience at this time of year.

No big deal. In fairness, probably a better tweet than a thread...
