I was a Passive-Aggressive person in approach, but now that I've gained a bit of muscle and mass (the bulked up on wheat based products kind, not the smocks/frocks and incense kind), think I might go down the Aggressive-Aggressive route...

    Three things:

    1/ A poll is coming

2/ This is a tongue-in-cheek bit of fun, not an analysis of the human condition.

We tend to not fight over Xmas-there's even been ceasefires called during particularly vicious barnies.

And please remember (looking at the 60% 'we don't fight' answers) that Santa is watching everything and,

    He knows

    HE KNOWS!

    Ceasefires from what? Peace?

I've seen LC calculus questions that are simpler to read than that poll :P

When I read threads like this where people share their stories of miserable Christmas days with fighting and nagging and tears, I'm pleased that my own family have always managed to have just nice and enjoyable Christmas holidays.

No agressiveness at all, I expect.

We genuinely don't have any kind of fights at Christmas. We've a lovely day, one that I thoroughly look forward to and enjoy.

And there's nothing wrong with Whiskey before 5pm.

Certain groups in the extended family don't speak to one another, they only come together for the sake of my elderly grandmother. The atmosphere can be frosty but there's usually no fighting, They'll just leave abruptly after the dinner before too much alcohol is consumed.

We bury the hatchet on christmass day and stephens day...then it's back to slash hooks and warning shots. I usually need to see the dentist in early january from all the forced smiling through clenched teeth.

I have never understood this stereotyping of family gatherings ending in arguments. I've never experienced any such outcomes. Family gathering are, and always have been, very happy times; or supportive in times of loss or troubles.

You have never met my mother and 3 sisters. They could find fault and pick a fight with Mother Theresa herself.
But I do love them. :)

Thankfully, we've never had any drama or conflict at Christmas (or any other time of year, really). Displays of aggression (passive or otherwise) at family gatherings are very selfish.

I usually have a Brady Bunch sort of Christmas with my family, there aren't any fights. Sometimes my parents get a bit uptight and stressed and start shouting at each other, or just my dad gets uptight and stressed and shouts at everyone, but he runs out of steam within a couple of minutes so we usually take no notice of him :pac:

Sometimes my sister gets on my nerves alright and we have a tiff for all of two minutes, but we usually get on quite well.

I hit the wrong one by accident and didn't realise until it was too late :(

We don't fight, although sometimes we'll retreat because there would be a few introverts among the numbers. Often I'll go off to my room for some quiet time when it's been a bit hectic.

If we do fight, it blows over there and then and it's usually about someone taking off their shoes and watching tv while other someones are still cleaning up. It's not like only some someones would like to take a break now and then, you know. :(

Maybe passive-aggressive was the right answer after all.

We all get on very well so no problems.

But in life, if someone is getting worked up, remember to just stay calm unless you like fighting, the other person might be fighting with you, but it takes two to fight and if you can stay calm and quick witted, you can cut them down in a calm manner, it might drive them mad, but that is what I do if someone wants to be stupid enough to want disharmony.
But in our family everyone gets on, but there are people in this world who you have to cut down.

I read "feudin" in the title as "Freudian"

Does that mean I want to ride my mother?
