    Hello,

I am struggling to maintain hot water for the day using this heater. We only recently moved in. From what I read here and online once you set the winter or summer time the water should stay hot for the day.

At the moment. We have it set to winter time and morning showers are fine. After this, once we come home in the evening. No hot water.

Is anyone able to really simplify how to fix this issue?

Please let there be hot water for Xmas!!

    Thank you

As far as I know these timers are designed(preprogrammed) to heat water overnight so hot water will be available in the morning. They are off during the day so water will not remain hot. The boost function should be used if hot water is needed at other times.

    Hi,

    Oh, OK.
So once I come home I'll have switch on the boost for a couple of hours?

Is no way to override this? To make it switch back on in the afternoon?

    Thanks a mil

There really is no need to switch it on for a couple of hours. An immersion will heat a full tank in about half an hour.
It would be crazy to leave an immersion on all day because it's an expensive way to heat water.
The only way to get around this would be to replace the timer with an alternative timer.
If you are not going to be at home in the afternoon then why do you need hot water in the tank all day?

Hi, I am having the same type of problem and I need the water to come on in the morning and evening. Do you know what kind of alternative timer would suit?

I maybe wrong but I thought economy 7 was on a cheaper Tarrif, that is electricity used overnight when there is less demand, and so costs less.
