SpaceX are about to launch a Falcon9 and maybe land the first stage back close to the launch pad

you can watch it live here http://www.spacex.com/webcast/

If this works it will be a huge step on the way to Mars

    you're welcome

there might be an even better one next summer, when they launch the Falcon heavy, they may try and land two falcon9s at the same time

also there will be a day time landing soon enough

Why was this more significant and harder than the Blue Origin one?

Blue Orbit went up and came back down.

SpaceX went higher, faster, and was designed to drop payloads off. In this case, it deployed 11 satellites into orbit and then returned safely to a launch pad 9 miles down from it's original launch :)

The important thing here is to figure out whether anyone was wearing an offensive item of clothing.

Impressive. Now we Judy need craft that can survive long voyages.
