Downton Abbey on Christmas day

Before I'm accused of liking this heap of you know what, I'm asking for somebody else; somebody on the verge of a full-on breakdown that Downton Abbey will not be available to watch in Ireland on Christmas night. The big question is: will she?

Apparently UTV Ireland aren't showing it, whereas TV3 are showing it, but only a few days later. She was mortified and couldn't believe this was the case. I was a little surprised myself. It's clearly a hugely popular show and it seems a bit unfair to neglect the Irish people.

So, are these rumours true or has this person, my "friend", got the wrong end of the stick?

    Cheers.

UTV Ireland have never shown it. TV3 will be showing it on St Stephens Day. If it must be watched and they have satellite tv they can tune in ITV and watch it there on Christmas Day.

When you say satellite TV, do you mean like Sky or UPC digital?

You can tune in UTV on "other channels" on the Sky box but I don't know about UPC. Other channels cannot be paused or recorded so you have suffer the million ad breaks live. It's so 90s.

This has been the case for the whole of series 6 to-date.

How did she manage to view the episodes up to now.
