So I'm borrowing a car for the month for my test as my own one broke down and is being scrapped. I bought insurance on Friday but I have my test tomorrow, the disc hasn't arrived in the post. I know you can print it out but I saw a thread from 2014 saying the tester wouldn't let him sit the test with the printed off disc, I presume it's still the same and I have to cancel my test?

You will lose your fee if you cancel now.

Legally there is nothing wrong with a printed disc provided it's printed in colour. And there is also nothing in the RSA checklist that specifically says that you may not have a printed disc. They use the word "original", which is very ambiguous.

Print out your disc, make it as official-looking as possible (go out and buy some nice high-quality paper; 90/100gsm; if you wish) and go do your test.

If he decides he doesn't like it, then you can lodge an appeal and you might get your re-test for free.

You don't really have anything to lose.

Update: couldn't sit the test because of it, lovely man but what a stupid rule.

Did you specifically tell him that you printed the disk ?
When I did mine the tester just had a quick glance from outside to make sure it was valid and I am sure he wouldn't have noticed if it was one that I printed from home

Nope, I didn't. He glanced at it from the outside then when we sat into the car he took it out, not sure if he noticed from the outside or not.
