Car Insurance for 1 day!

My Insurance expires in a couple of days time and I have gone with a new Insurance company for my renewal. It's all paid for and I have the new Cert. I've just noticed though that I messed my dates up and I will be uninsured for one day. I spoke to the Insurer who said that to change the date I would have to send them a letter cancelling the policy explaining why and return the cert. Only then would they be able to requote and get me cover from the date I require!! Is there any other way around this?, my current insurer won't cover me for the additional day. Thanks!

dont drive for that 1 day would probably be the least amount of hassle.

Probably best to take a taxi or the bus instead... Alternatively call in sick! ;)
