    Hi,

I do 12 hrs shifts patter at my workplace and looks like I'll be at work on the 27th, 28th, 29th of December.

Am I entitled to any extra day off or paid day for working that day?

    Thank You,

    Sab

This is a recommended read. I don't know if company policies or your contract over rules it though.

Yes, I seen that one, which says:

Public holidays falling on a weekend
Where a public holiday falls on a weekend, you do not have any automatic legal entitlement to have the next working day off work. This will occur in 2015 when St Stephen's Day (26 December) will fall on a Saturday. This means that Monday 28 December 2015 is not a public holiday. Your employer can require you to attend work on those days. When this happens you are entitled to one of the following:

A paid day off within a month of the public holiday
An additional day of annual leave
    An additional day's pay

and here is what my admin said:

People working Monday – Friday, when a bank holiday falls on a weekend, they get the following Monday off.

The bank holiday on the shift planner that was marked for December 28th, refers only to RWW people as the real bank holiday is the December 26th, which falls on a Saturday.
All bank holidays throughout the year are covered in your salary at single rate and if you have to work that day, you get overtime at single rate, which becomes double pay for working it.

    My question as still confused:
Am I entilted to anything then?

    Regards,
    Sab

Are you part of the "RWW people" referred to in the note from admin?

You really need to go back and clarify with them if you will be paid an extra days pay on the 28th

No I'm not Monday- Friaday RWW people.
But I will be working 12 hrs on the 28th of December.

Thanks. Looks like I wont be paid any extra
