Beats Studio Alternatives

I bought myself a (knockoff) pair of the beats studio headphones below when I was on holiday in Turkey recently. Really like them. I'm not normally into cans but the way they go around your ear as opposed to sitting on the ear makes them super comfortable.

Being knockoffs the sound isn't great and the battery is poor. Looking to buy myself a proper pair. Given that this exact pair would run me almost €400, I'm looking to pick up a cheaper, similar alternative. I'm not an audiophile - my only requirement is nothing too bassy. But comfort is key.

Have been googling to my hearts content but difficult to get a consensus on what to go for. Don't mind spending a couple quid - anywhere up to €200/250.

Anyone have any recommendations or thoughts?

In the one above - very strange thing to say about Sony or ATH (we are talking about models listed) to have better sound that Onkyo. Had chance to test all of them, I have owned Onkyo's and the sound on completely another level compared to ATH M50, leaving M40's far behind.
Still Sony MDR-7506 (and old V6) are fantastic headphones for the price.

But as we all know this is all very subjective

    Good guide also here:

    Sorry to hi-jack this thread,
Young lad bought a pair of Solo Beats II in the States last year but within 1 month one side (thin wire fed side) is not working. I today took them apart and found the broken connection but I need to get speaker wire and reroute a whole new length as it appears to have more than one break.
What alternative head phone is of more reliable quality but similar sound to the Beats Solo?

    Hi all

I ended up going for these from Argos:

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/1478507/Trail/searchtext%3ESONY+MDR.htm

So far I am very happy. They're €150 at the mo but I got them for €120. If you look around online you'll probably get them around that price.

This dude did a review that covers most of the bits and bobs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8O5MoQCA98

I agree with most of what he said. Sound is very good.
