    Hi,

Have a 1965 MF135 that I need to replace water pump on. I have the old one off and a new one to put on. I can't take the bolts out of the old pump as they are caught on the pulley. Can I tap off the pulley or do I need to use a puller of some sort. Or am I doing something wrong, should bolts come out without taking off pulley. Found a Picture.

    Thanks.

they should come out just enough so the threads of the bolts are no longer in the block, so you dont need to remove them completely to get the pump off the engine.

It turns out there were only three bolts on the pump. One of the short bolts had broken at some point with the stud still in the hole. Don't know How I am going to get that out.

Drill it out and send in a tap, simples.

Have to order some imperial taps as all mine are metric.
