Hi all. My neighbor is an old woman with a grant outdoor boiler and an outdoor plastic tank put on blocks about 3 foot high. She has ran out of fuel on a number of occasions in the past and I have bled her burner for her on several occasions after re-fueling by opening valve on burner with allen key . She has had her fuel stolen lately twice and has decided to buy only 200 euro of fuel for christmas. She asked me to bleed as I had done before but I could not get fuel to flow,. I checked filter and stop valve and ok. I opened end of copper line in boiler housing and still no fuel.
I decided to get clear plastic tube and tried syphon and fuel flowed. I re-connected line and bled on pump and the boiler worked first time after reset.

Anyhow, although I was successful in getting boiler working, it was far from a safe and satisfactory way of getting her going. There was about a litre of fuel on the ground that needed cleaning up and of course the obvious health risk from syphoning.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if there is any tool or device or tip for bleeding the fuel line in the situation where there is not much fuel in the tank.

Get a tiger loop fitted and you'll never have to bleed the burner again.

And get one of them watchman alarms fitted.
It will tell her when the oil is running out and also if it's getting robbed
