Hi lads


Just wondering it you can loop sky cables? As in I have coax's going into my sky box from the dish. I have another box on the way that requires been connected too the dish also. Rather then climb a ladder and connect too the dish can I loop off the cable that's there with an old fashioned splitter box?

Yes you can, however only one box will work at any given time.

Yes, the 1st stage of tuning actually happens in the LNB, so each tuner needs its own separate connection to function properly.

If you do decide to use a splitter, use 1 like this directional power-passing example, that only passes power from outputs to input.

If a sky box only has one coax connected too it what does it effect lads?

If you only have one cable connected to a sky box that needs 2 then the box may not work. I can't remember exactly but the box will check for 2 inputs on boot up and if one is absent will show an error message. You can overcome this by setting box to single feed and that also introduces restrictions re recording programmes, downloading egg.
