    Hi,
    has anyone else noticed very poor or no teletext on rte via sky over the last while,
    text was ok up to lately,
    using a rather elderly Panasonic standard single input sky box with valid sky sub and elderly Panasonic flat screen tv,linked via scart cable ,
    picture is fine and signal levels good,
    just wondering if anyone else could check and let me know
    no saorview where this tv is located,
    thanks.

    Sure OP is not asking about Saorview, he is asking about sky.

    OP specifically states no Saorview at the location.

    It's awful on sky lately doesn't work on 101 or 102, but I stumbled upon rte +1 on sky 115 and teletext works ok on it, some pages are jumbled up from time to time, I mean as in say rugby news two stories in one page making no sense, hope this helps OP

    I don't understand why it won't work on sky.
    RTE aertel work's perfect on Saorsat, so it's not because of the satellite broadcast.

    AFAIK Sky still use conventional Teletext, whereas Aertel on Saorview and Saorsat now use MHEG5 text.

    @pegasuspub
    RTÉ/2RN have been busy rearranging their feeds to Sky to add RTÉ1 HD, +1 and News Now. It's possible they messed something up recently while doing this. Maybe give 2RN an email to see if they are aware of issues.

    Can't comment WRT 'the last while', but just checking my FTA box there now, I notice it seems to work fine via the teletext decoder in the box, but is jumbled/has parts missing when viewed using the TV's decoder.

    Sky do no longer support teletext on their platform. They started to gradually remove it from 2014 onwards afaik.

    Sky do no longer support teletext on their platform.

    It's still there on the RTE transponder, & viewable on anything with the relevant decoder.
