    Lads,
Always bought calves at the mart but a neighbour has a few nice ones for sale. The mart always looked after the paperwork. What Forms need to be done to move calves between farms? - I use Agfood so maybe there is an option there?
    Thanks

Seller does a movement form on ag food. Age of calf matters for movements as far as I know though in terms of vet checks

If your neighbour is on Agfood too, it's a very simple movement transaction. He simply moves the animals into your herd & gets a movement permit number which you have to use.

If he's not on agfood, there is a form available on the dept site to send off. Just make sure they're under 42 days if not tested.

Was told by a Dept Inspector but reading the regulations it is over a journey of 100klms and/or the calves naval has not fully healed.
Also calves for export/slaughter cannot travel under 10 days of age.

    https://www.agriculture.gov.ie/media/migration/animalhealthwelfare/transportofliveanimals/Guidelines_WelfareOfAnimalsDuringTransport.pdf

They are pigs of less than three w
eeks, lambs of less than one week and
calves of less than ten days of age,
unless they are transported less than
    100 km;
Pigs, lambs and calves should not be
    transported before they are 3
weeks, 1 week, and 10 days of age, re
spectively, unless the transport is less
than 100km. For such journeys, consider
    ation should be give
    n to the special
requirements of the specific animals. A transport of less than 100km for the
    specific species should not
    be considered unless
the navel of the animal is
    adequately healed.
