Problem with power outlet in 2011 Nissan Juke

I plugged a USB adapter into the power outlet of my 2011 Juke - when I removed it the top of adapter (the plastic bit with the metal contact) came away and is now firmly stuck at the bottom of the outlet. Pliers are no good as there is very little purchase. The thing seems wedged in but I'm not sure why as it originally slid in easily with no force required. I will try to get a good photo in daylight and post it. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is it a big job to replace the power outlet?

I would use something like a wood screw.
Obviously make sure the power is off.
