Well OK; challenges! Like this. Tomorrow, I plan on driving to Mizen Head with a couple of visits on the way. I aim to walk right to the end of the headland then climb the 99 steps on the way back... at 72 and with arthritis and a walking stick a challenge...But the sense of achievement is huge,... any others?

    Best of luck with it!

Me? Get through Christmas and New Year's without pissing off my family...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

My small ambition is to be able to lose enough weight so that when I look down, I can see my flute without the aid of a mirror.

My latest ambition (I'm forever coming up with new ones and doggedly achieving them so far) is to help my eldest grandson catch a double figure pike.

I'm also planning to cycle my old training circuit again. It's 60 miles and I haven't ridden more than 10 miles, at a time, in many years. Time will tell.

    Hmmmm.

That first ambition sounds a bit fishy.

My top ambition is to just once remember to bring a carrier bag with me to the shops instead of paying another 70 cents and adding to the pile at home. My second is to get through the trailers without eating all of my popcorn.

Get back on weight watchers and stop eating everything in sight :o Damn you Christmas, damn you to hell! *shakes fist*

To get back playing rugby. Pretty much gave up when the little lad was born and have been meaning to go back. Just need to make the first step and get back down. Hoping to be back down the first week after the holidays

Get over a bout of pneumonia enough to enjoy my niece and nephews over Christmas. I don't get enough time with them and I don't want to waste the break lying around feeling bad. I'd also like to be a decent help to my Mum and Dad and maybe even play a round of golf with my Granny.

Right now all I want to do is lie down and watch telly though!

Hope you get well soon! Still a week to go so I'd say you'll be over the worst of it by this time next week!

If anyone can do it, the 'Pocket Rocket' can :)

Nothing worse than feeling ill at Christmas time, I hope you'll feel well enough by next week to enjoy your Christmas dinner and spend time with your family. I hope you'll be fit to fly home too!!

Mission postponed! Blowing a gale at Mizen Head so the walkways will not be open.. ah well! Nice idea... instead will head to Killarney and maybe make this my last outing before Christmas...I did the Mizen Head walk in summer ( I am there often and they no longer charge me entry and the lovely ladies in the cafe feed me too!) and the youngster on duty at the end admitted he could not do the 99 steps..Probably town on the last weekend before Christmas will be more arduous than Mizen head anyways..Walking sticks have their uses....;)More lights and a small turkey for the cats and dog...cheap vegetables! I do ENJOY it all! The best shop for me is Dunnes. There when they open as they put the reduced stuff out then..We are nothing if not adaptable.

We adapt... I remember this after a serious operation soon before Christmas. Things mean differently if that makes sense. Same now as I am very limited physically. Second childhood and a new sense of how precious life is. Will light a candle for you in the cathedral when I am there today to see the Christmas garden....Bless you!

Gap of Dunloe, Ross Castle, Muckross House, Torc, the Lakes, Ladies View, the Meeting of the Waters etc. etc. Far more to see in Killarney!

€45 per month. There are cheaper ways of keeping the joints active than that.

Mine are to tidy our room, sort out my makeup, get all the clothes washed and dried and find an outfit for Christmas day!

I'm going out tonight and I'd settle for a kiss or two from a lovely. I'll be in Whelans if any female AH'er sees this. I'll be wearing a white rose and swinging an invisible lasoo toward girls who are out of my league and don't think it's funny.

Well yes... but Mizen Head is special.. Have you been there? Look it up on google....Nothing like it in Killarney.. The 2 places I recommend to visitors are the Traditiional Farms at Muckross and Mizen head..Ended up today at Muckross and they gave me a tour of the Christmas Magic event. Sheer magic....so well done.. Even had my photo taken with Santa..

Aint that the truth! You can get most of those ingredients much cheaper too and nothing really stops the advance of age... Walking the half mile and the 99 steps is pretty good...

Oh a good few times. Used to go down to Barley Cove every summer, nicest beach around bar Derrynane.

I particularly like 3 Castle Head nearby...

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunlough_Castle

If you like that end if the world feel, Sheeps Head and the cliffs at Valentia (with the cage over the sea) and beyond Portmagee on the way back to Ballinskelligs worth checking out. Or take the cable car out to Dursey and walk to the other end of the island.
