Cycling holiday France

Right, so "cycling holiday" is pushing it, I'm going to France for the Euros in June but noticed that we have 4 days off and I'd like to do some cycling. With the schedule, the pyrennies seems the best bet, and I'm looking to do something around Pau.

Hautacam and Tourmalet are the famous candidates in the area, fairly confident I could do both in one day. Has anyone cycled the area? What's the best town in the area to stay in? Tarbes looks the best bet for logistics (fly in and train out). I assume there's plenty of bike shops that rent bikes in the area? Any other suggestions for nice climbs in the area?

Check out Velo Peloton . Irish guy who runs a guest house in that area and also bike hire . Plenty of biking routes advise too .

    I was thinking the same.
Get over for the first match, and go to the Mountains in the south.
Then watch the second match and go to the North to try out the cobbles.

A few people from the club I'm with used Velo this year and everyone of them had great things to say. Plus respect to him for giving us some amazing photos taken on your cycle here on boards.:)
