Hi everyone, after taking a year out i'm thinking of going back to study occupational therapy. I'm just wondering though how is the pay so high? Starting salary is 37,000? This cant be right?? Surely there must be some horrible element to the job for it to be that high?! If it is correct, why isn't everybody perusing this career? :pac:

First point on the hse scale is 33969, with increments on a yearly basis.

And while it can be a really rewarding job, it's also really tough going. Depends on the area you work in of course, but overall it is a great job.

You need to look at the top of the scale, not the bottom. That's the most you can ever earn, unless you move into management.
