Renault Laguna 2008 or Fluence?

Just wondering which might be a better buy a 08/09 Laguna diesel with low mileage or a Fluence? Any thoughts appreciated. I gather that the post 08 Lagunas are actually a huge improvement on the earlier models. Want something comfy and economical, I do about 23,000kms per year a good bit of which is on motorway.

The Laguna will be more comfortable and probably better equipped. Fluence is a good car too and if you're comparing 1.5 dci on both cars, the fluence would be better suited.
For me it would be the Laguna. But with a bigger engine.

Laguna for me too. I think most of those Fluence dci's sold here were 85hp which is too little for that car

Definitely the Laguna for me also. No contest.

I generally like Renaults and have had a few, but I don't like the Fluence at all. Not sure why, it seems a decent enough car. I really like the Laguna though. I have a 2008 2.0 dCi 150, and I can't fault it so far. It's a very comfortable commuting car, which is exactly what I got it for.

I haven't driven the 1.5 version*, but the 2.0 seems to suit the car very nicely.

    * I did have a 1.5 dCi Scenic II for eight years, but it's a smaller car, so not really comparable.

Dero how would a Scenic be smaller than a Laguna?

Fluence only came out in 2010.

Maybe it's not, but the Laguna certainly feels bigger. It was a five seater Scenic though.

Scenic is based on the Megane. Even the Grand Scenic is good bit shorter than a Laguna 3.
