    Hi guys,

I just bought a new house and the previous owner had an Eircom Phone Watch system. The previous owner passed away about a year or so ago and the house remained empty. The family therefore cancelled the Eircom Phone Watch subscription.

The system still beeps and last night I clicked on a button labelled 'sleep', or something like that, thinking it might cease beeping. Instead the alarm was set and it went off a couple minutes later. Disaster.

I rang Eircom, the auctioneer, the family I bought the house from, and their solicitor and nobody can help. Nobody knows the code.

How can I disable the Phone Watch System?

    Thanks for any info.

(the attached photo is the same model system that is in the house I bought)

Is there a fused spur box beside the panel?
Take the fuse out of that.
Then open the panel and disconnect the back up battery.

My granny has this and it's not hooked up to PhoneWatch at the moment.
It beeps every morning at around 11am and night at 11pm or so, too.
It keeps beeping every 10 or so minutes until a button is pressed.

Not sure what's up with it.
It's a wirefree one installed about 3 years ago.

What type of panel is it.?
On the Simon panel if you keep pressing the status button it will announce any problems.

I'm not entirely sure but it's a block of a thing.
I will check when I'm there tomorrow and also try pressing that to see what comes up.

He said ''Back Door Alarm, System Communication Failure''.
Before that, on the screen it said 'AC Failure'.

It has now changed from 11am and pm to 7am and pm, since I checked it.
Sorry about the photos being sideways

You would need engineer access to disable the communications test calls.

Oh, so it's the test calls that are causing the noises?
I can get that or just ask them over the phone how to disable it using their engineer code?

They're not going to give you the Engineer codes.

They should, we have taken over a few of these systems and Phonewatch gave the codes directly to the clients.
