Just wondering what exactly is a pre reg and how does it differ from a 'demo' model? Should a garage be quoting the same price for them?

To my knowledge a pre reg car has no miles on it that has been registered by the dealer and the manufacturer/distributor has discounted the price of it in order to increase market share.

Dealers have sales targets set by the supplier. Hit these targets and get a better discount from the manufacturer. A dealer will register what ever amount needed to hit the target and sell them at a discount as pre-reg's.

Pre reg definitely value.Bought a 152 jetta highline which was regd on aug 30 by dealer.bought it on sept 18 with just 120 km -bonus was it was 2200 less than brand new.Demos often can have up to 4k miles up and used by staff as weekend cars
