€25 if you use a voucher, anyone know if they're any good? Hot enough to sear a steak? My sister bought a crappy George Foreman from Argos thats already peeling off its non-stick so is thinking of switching to one of these...

I have a George Foreman but would never use it for steaks , too much pressure forced on the meat. Since they cook on both sides at the same time their temperature isn't gonna be the same as a pan at full heat, removable plate tend not to be as hot as fixed plate either.

I'd have my doubts something from lidl is gonna last longer.

I have a red silvercrest george foreman, I use it to grill burgers. Probably similar, right?

I wouldn't clamp it down on a steak either Id sear one side and flip it, Im trying to gauge how hot it gets, this opens out flat on a table so both grill plates can be used "barbecue" style aswell. I think Ill chance it, its only €25 and they'll take it back if its a complaete piece of sh1t.
