I receive JA and my parents are terminally ill and I am likely to inherit an amount of money that will put me over the limit of assets allowed for claiming JA.

If I don't find a job before receiving this inheritence and have to give up my JA claim, do I have to show how I spent every euro of the money before making another claim in the future if my assets drop below the allowed amount?

They will require bank statements and will look at large withdrawals
So , yes, I would keep receipts for any purchases over say €400.
It's the most efficient thing to do if you think you will be making a new claim in the next few years
Don't forget to inform SW as soon as the money is in your account
