    Hi all,
My house, built around 1940s, old council house, has the original internal doors upstairs. I took the locks off and ive found them to be Legge 2136. Anyone know what keys currently fit it, or where I can get spares? I've googled a bit and it seems there is a P2136 but not sure if they will fit. Also, vast majority of the time I've to buy the whole lock, and not just the key!

    Thanks

It does look similar. The one I have is a black lock, and is over 60 years old. Would it be the same lock?

yes its the same lock. There are a few generics around. They are very easy to strip down and do a DIY repair. A coating of nightmores paint remover will strip it down to like new.

Central key in North frederick street dublin should be able to get you a key.
If not I can arrange for a new lock, they are not expensive. All the old corpo houses in cabra and ballyfermot have them

Ok grand. This house was built with the corpo houses, but was privately owned, so assuming it's the same. If the lock is replaced, is it still the same holes in the door for the handles?
