How many people have you ...

    ... lived with?

And how many homes have you had?

    Me:
0-24 (on and off) - parents' house in Sligo - eight others
17 - Maynooth (for college) - two others
18 - Galway (for college) - seven others
    19 - Sligo - (I think) three others
    24 - Maynooth - two others
25 - Dublin (East Wall) - one other
    25 - Limerick - one other
25 - Sligo - one other (my then fiance)
26 - Dublin (Grand Canal Dock) - one other
    26 - Dublin (Fairview) - one other
27 - Dublin (Carpenterstown) - one other (my partner)
28 - Dublin (Clonsilla) - one other (my partner) plus my baby arrived, so two others!
30 - Dublin - one other - same place, new housemate
30 - Dublin - one other - same place, new housemate

OK so in total, in 30 years, I've lived in 14 places I'd have called home, at the time. And I've had a total of 32 housemates.

    You?

0-6 months - Dublin - lived with parents and sister
6 months to 1 year - rented house in Cork with parents and sister
1 year to 21 years old - family home with parents and sister
6 months in a flat on my own in Cork city
6 months in a flat share with my sister and her boyfriend

Since I first left home, I've lived with about 27 people.

Most of them were good, just one bad apple, one became one of my best friends, two or three I still talk to now. Some of them I never really got to know either as at one point I was living in a big enough house with about five other people (I'm not even sure how many lived there) where we just shared the kitchen and the bathroom but we all had very odd timetables so we hardly ever crossed paths.

Most of the people were laid back and easy-going. I have only ever argued with one housemate (see more below) and in most flats I can't remember the others ever arguing with each other. Been lucky with the flatmates I've had but it only takes one rotten apple to upset the whole gaff.

Worst was the controlling, constantly-whingeing, never happy clean-freak/spoilt princess who believed she was God's gift to men (she wasn't). Thankfully, only lived with her for six weeks as she quickly realised she couldn't control me or our other housemates and ****ed off. Though she did rob our internet when she left which I'm pretty sure was her way of saying "**** you" to us.

Runner-up was the drama queen who tried to manipulate everybody and turn us against each other (we all worked at the same place) but, in fairness to him, he only did that crap at work, he wasn't a problem to live with.

I've had way more good than bad and wouldn't really be worried about moving in with strangers, actually think it's better to live with strangers than with friends, though I have never lived with people who were friends before we lived together so that's a theory as opposed to an experience.

OP, you went from living in Grand Canal Dock, to Fairview, to Carpenterstown to Clonsilla.
It's like residential aspiration in reverse.

In the 16 years since I left home for college, I've lived with at least 43 other people in 6 different houses/apartments.

The last two of my college years accounted for at least 31 of those people.

Since birth, have lived in 14 different flats/houses, in 4 towns/cities between 2 countries, ranging from 1 month to 9 years.

20 different people, including immediate family.

Only a few of them I would actually call home.

22 people in total across 2.5 countries (the North of Ireland is the 0.5 :p) and 17 of whom were fellow students. Have a place to myself here at work and a place to myself back at home so no more sharing for me for the foreseeable future.

Other than my parents, I've actually only ever lived with one other adult! 6 different places - 5 of those since I moved out of home at 17.
