Invisalign or fixed braces - least damaging?

Hi, I'm hoping to get one of the above to fix some minor orthodontic issues (mostly overcrowding). I've had two consultations and both orthodontists recommended invisalign. I thought I'd trust their judgement and get them but some friends who had invisalign said they weren't happy with the results, had lots of staining/ weakened enamel, and didn't like the polishing (filing between teeth). So I'm reconsidering invisalign now!
    Are fixed braces equally damaging?

Secondly, one orthodontist advised removing all four wisdom teeth before getting the braces as they might cause my teeth to move after treatment. The second orthodontist said there's no need to remove them if they aren't painful.

I think invisalign was recommended as I wanted something removable for my wedding next summer. Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Neither are damaging if done correctly, both can be damaging if done poorly of on the wrong patient. Pick the orthodontist not the treatment. A good orthodontist will recommend the best treatment for you given all the variables and your wishes. Internet strangers can only offer vague advice and personal stories that may not be relevant to you.
