Bottom Bracket Question

I'm about to place an order for a few bits and pieces on Wiggle. There's a few bits I need and others that I'd like to have as a spare for when the time comes.

One of those 'spare' bits is a bottom bracket. No harm to have one spare as they're cheap enough. Having one 'on the shelf' means I can replace it immediately if necessary.

I currently have a Shimano BB-R60 which comes with the 105/Ultegra groupset. I'm running a 105 5800 grouppo at the moment. I can buy a replacement for €17. While browsing, I came across the BB-R9000 (Dura Ace version) which looks almost identical but costs €30. It looks almost identical.

So, what will I get for the additional €13? I didn't make the cut for the 2016 grand tours so I'll have to settle for farting around Wicklow next year. Should I just stick with the BB-R60 or should I succumb to the Dura Ace marketing and spend the extra €13?

Seriously, is there any appreciable difference?

Well I cant speak about the particular bottom bracket but when buying relatively cheap items (<50euro) I would always spend the extra bit to get the best I could.

I paid about 60 euro maybe 7 or 8 years ago for a set of Dura Ace downtube levers when I could have got a cheaper set for about half the price. Still as reliable as ever today.

After all what is the difference between 17 and 30 euro in the great scheme of things. This time next year you will have forgotten how much you paid for it anyway.
