How is means calculated for non contributory pension.
I've a relative who has returned from America with a small American pension.
Is this amount taken as means directly meaning the irish pension would be reduced by almost the same amount or is there a calculation used where the calculated means may be a different figure to the actually foreign pension.
I've looked up everything I can possibly see on line. I did find alot of stuff but not the actual method of calculation used.

It will be deducted euro for euro
Also your relative will have to fulfill the HRC which can be very tricky
