Christmas Carol services, nine lessons & carols . . .

Have you been to any good ones this year?
Anything re your Carol service you want to share?
Favourite Christmas Carol on the night.
Was your Church decorated, or did you just have a tree?
Maybe you have no Christmas tree?

    + Everything to do with Christmas Carol services . . . . . . .

Not yet, but a family member got to two recently. Two more coming up next week. Plenty of Christmas decorations and a tree, and I also expect tea and munches after all that singing!! DING-DONG!!!!!!!

Will head along for the annual NCH event and then one in the local CoI and probably another one on top of that. Really enjoy them..

Our local one is on tonight week. Candlelit Church and a choir that need no microphones. I look forward to "O holy night" and "Hark, the herald..". The crib isn't up yet in the Church but it's nearly life-size when it does go up. A lot of work goes into it and it is very well done.
I find it hard to get into the Christmas spirit until a day or two before. I work up to Xmas eve, so I like to sit at home in front of the fire and listen to some songs on my ownsome.

Well there is my nephew's upcoming performance as a Shepherd in the local Nativity play. Might be some carols during the performance.

My daughter is singing in her school choir on Thursday, so I can't wait for that.

Also, Lighthouse Church in Navan is having a White Christmas service on Sunday next, with choral singing from the kids church.

We have our 'nine lessons & carols' service in Church this Sunday, which starts off with 'Hark the herald'... then a lesson, 'O little town of Bethlehem', then a lesson, and so on.......... followed by mince pies and tea/coffee in the hall :)

That format used to be called a 'hymn sandwich' in my church-going days.

Just back from the NCH carols and it's well worth a visit, if a bit pricier than your local CoI service. Great music and a lot of sing along. Almost football terrace roar at times..
