    People,
I'm returning a faulty kettle to Amazon UK. In fairness, they sent a replacement and have promised me ( via chatline ) they will reimburse any postage.
For those living in the UK they have a 'collect + ' service but not for us in the colonies.
Parcel Wizard don't do returns and An Post are a rip off.
    Any suggestions ?

We're returning something to Amazon too they just said to fill out the form and they will send a label to attach and then will cover the postage costs when they receive it. Did they not offer to cover the costs for you?

Yes, I got an online return address to Fife to print out. This their 'collect + ' service and only applies to the UK. After a little digging I now see that PM offer this service ( scroll down through their 'returns' menu ) - so it looks like I have to spend 3.50 euro for a medium parcel to Newtownabbey , include the Amazon label and it will be forwarded to Amazon as part of the 'collect +' service.
Correct me if I'm wrong !

Weird they just said to pop it in the post and they will refund us for whatever that costs. Maybe they didn't realise you were in Ireland lol some people don't have any idea that places in Ireland aren't in the UK!

I'm presuming you are in the ROI.? They will charge you the standard rate for sending to the UK. Of course, the chatline operator hadn't a clue about the border , NI etc and even tried to find me a collection point in Tipperary.

Yeh I am in Dublin. Made it clear where we were said its not UK they said no problem so hopefully it turns out like that we only received the delivery on Friday and were chatting to them that day.

Well, they may 'offer' to refund postage costs but if its not part of their IT system I would'nt hold my breath.
I'm going to try the PM route. Unless you get the faulty item back to them in 30 days you are charged the full cost of the replacement.

Amazon will and can refund the return postage, not sure what you mean that its not part of their IT system.

You might need to contact them to get the refund and if the postage is above a certain amount they may look for a receipt but they will and can very much refund postage,

Fair enough but I'd still prefer to use their system which is barcoded, spend 3.50 on PM and avail of free onward postage from NI.
They must pull their hair out at postage costs from the ROI ?

When I be to return something I got via parcel motel hotel I do the following.

Set up a return. Process (usually to the UK) which requires me paying and being reimbursed.

I then get into chat and ask for it to be changed to their irish returns depot , Cycleon in Johnstown Co. Dublin.

The agent then issues a new returns link and I get free postage.

I am having a nightmare trying to get a replacement from them.
The item I ordered was on an old account whose email got hacked. Couldn't log in and could not reset password so had to set up a new account.
All details on the account, address etc are the same, only the registered email is different, but can they work out that it is the same person? Not a farking chance!!
    Going around in circles.

    GRRRRRRR

Is there any free phone number for ROI? Even a chat facility?

Why not log into your Amazon account and change the email in your settings!

Because it was impossible to retrieve the renew password email due to the email for the account having been hacked.

    Believe me, I tried.
