Ducati M900 questions

I'm thinking of upgrading my bike but have one reservation. I'm currently on a Suzuki SV650S. Great bike but I'm looking for a bit bigger engine and also I want a more upright position as I'm not a fan of the leaned over position on the bike.

I was considering the Ducati M900. I'm just not sure about the position on the bike. Is it similar to the SV?

How reliable are these bikes? Anything else I should be wary of?

monsters are a bit of a weird riding position - short legs, and long arms.. best to see if you can try one to size..

is the sv1000 not the logical step for ya? :p

....I think you already own the bike Ducati would have loved to have built in the first place..............SO has one, and she'd like a Duc too, but everyone I know of has had issues..............most depressing........

SV1000 would be the logical step, but don't rule out a DL1000 either.........

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Never ridden the M900, but was having a chat with Robbie in Mototechnic before (mechanic that specialises in ducati), he reckons the carb M900 is ultra reliable. He said he sold his M900 and it had 100,000 miles on it and never needed anything other than basic services.
I was going to get one, but they don't come up that often.

Mate of mine has one now for circa 7 years, it lives outside. Been ultra reliable, and never needed anything beyond basic servicing as per above.

No No! I just noticed it gone off DD.
    Looked like a nice bike.
Wasn't mad about the front lights and a bit pricey but a nice bike all the same.
