Pagoda Cars Rip Off

    Hi Everyone,

I have to share this in able to make sure that no one else falls into the same trap as I did.

I bought a car which was faulty from Pagoda cars about 2 weeks ago.I was promised that the car would be serviced with that the reason I could get it the same day. I paid a deposit the Saturday and collected the car after work. On the way home I noticed the car was sluggish and was gulping up diesel and the car was shuddering as soon as you drive more than 80km/h.
As they were closed I called them the next day to explain, I thought it might only be the wheel alignment that needs to be fixed.

I was promised a call back ASAP by Tom's father. which I never got. I called back again after a week when it got worse and was promised a call back again ,but to no avail. The car broke down and I was taken to the nearest garage and had no choice to fix it at a cost in excess of € 700.

I would have understood if I paid a bargain price for the car ,but I was lured in like a fool and that is what hurts most

I cant believe that there isn't more protection for the consumer these days

Posted in the wrong forum but did you not get the car checked out or give it a proper test drive before you bought it.

    Did you get any warranty?

In cases like this your best option is to go straight back to the garage, a phone call is easily ignored, a customer on the forecourt is not.

You should have recourse under the sale of goods act and a trip to the small claims court if required.

I'd still go back to the garage in person first and see what they say.
