Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that due to a problem with the bus gate routes 38/A,40D,220,236 will not serve both these areas until further notice.

Dublin Bus apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Just a warning!

I got caught out by this this morning along with many others and I ended up 10 minutes late for work and a sweaty mess because I had run to make sure I wouldn't be even later!

I know Dublin Bus have a warning up but it didn't go up until last night, that's nowhere near enough notice and they need to update passengers in others ways than on social media, not everyone spends all day everyday checking the internet, facebook twitter etc. A verbal warning from drivers last week for example would have been great!.

What makes you think that they had information last week to give out?

The problem here is, we don't know when this issue arose. If this problem with the busgate only arose yesterday, what else could Dublin Bus do?

It's looking like it was an unforseen issue, so there was no way drivers could have warned you in advance .

This problem with the bus gate was happening a few times late last week so seemed it was part of an ongoing issue.

There were issues with it on Saturday evening, there were ongoing problems with it throughout the day so they pulled us all out of Ballycoolin altogether around 6pm. Most drivers weren't aware of it until last minute as the 40D takes up in Harristown garage and there isn't one driver handing over to another to inform them of the closure. Central made a number of open calls about it and the RTPI signs had a message that buses were not serving the industrial estate.

I'm not sure it it was flood waters or in relation to the roadworks beside the bus gate causing the problem.
