A neighbor has on of these freesat boxes. There's not a kick out of it. The fuse isn't gone . I tried a different (working cable) cable, no joy. What next? do these have a fuse inside on the circuit board?

If its the same model there has been problems in the past with the glue that secures the large capacitor leaking onto nearby resistors and frying them.

Check the resistors around this particularly the one labelled R3 which is on that startup board.

It'll be on front of the biggest green capacitor at the back left.

If its the R3 thats sizzled (it was fairly common) the underside of that resistor will be melted You will need to desolder and resolder a 470K 0.75W 350V replacement resistor (just double check that value with the burnt one). They cost about a euro

    Heres a fried one from a TM5200.
