couldn't find thread dealing with this problem so mods move if one already exists.
    03 skoda petrol octavia electrics
first it turned no warning light for fuel gauge showed tank empty ,if you drove through a puddle , then it did similar if you turned steering mostly if to left , then either way, then it stopped mileage ie if doing 50 for ex it went to 0 or 10.
local mechanic put on diagnostics and it showed faults in almost everything from ecu to whatever, so he after seeking advice was told to replace sender unit on gearbox, all was well for few days now its back to where it was and mech has no idea where to look , he had car for day after fitting and all read ok on diagnostics ,
oh and one other new thing is causing same problem now and thats our friendly potholes of which thera are a few or a bump in road, any advice other than it probably needs a match for a remedy, as we say locally another e150 gone south-west:confused:

still same story , had clock removed and checked, tried tracing all wires from sender unit and petrol tank, still same issue,

surely someone has had a similar issue with a VW related product if so any clues, im totally baffled

Not a vw specific problem but check youre light bulbs!!

Have a a transit and put a wrong brake only bulb in instead

of a brake and tail,it threw up a load of fault lights and disabled the esp.

quickly back to normal when the right bulb was put in:o:o:o:o
