Are grant appeals ever successful? Has anyone here actually ever had a successful one or heard of it?

Appeals for the sake of it? Doubt it.

When susi get the maths wrong, of course.

The appeal isn't there to get lucky, susi make.decisions based on a.formula, same inputs same outputs.

Yes, there are many successful appeals based on errors and more information being provided to the awarding authority through the years when is was the councils and VECs.
Remember, the people making the decisions make mistakes like everyone else, but try and make sure you are appealing for the right reason and not because you feel you deserve the grant assistance.
