We had the house rewired and the electrician said put cat 5 cables into each room as the walls are thick so we did. We had eircom come in and connect the main phone line but refused to do the additional points.

Can we connect the points ourselves as the electrician was right the wifi is awful in parts of the house. Or is it more hassle than its worth. There is often ps3 ps4 a pc and phones all connected wirelessly so don't expect miracles.

Depends on what the electrician did. If he wired it for phone use its pretty useless, but if he brought them all back to one point then setting up a switch is childs play.
