I have a Potterton boiler at home which was newly installed before we bought the house but there was no manual supplied and I can only find a serial number of b60770796 which gives no results on Google.
Last year, I got a guy in to service it, registered btw, and he did a horrendously bad job, leaving water running into it, after he'd gone, till the pressure gauge maxed out and I had to call him back to fix the problem the next day.
One year on and the pressure appears to have dropped a little but I can't figure out how to repressurise it. There are 2 black twist taps on the pipes underneath but I'm afraid to mess with them without advice. I've attached pictures below and if anyone has any help or advice on how to do the job, I'd be eternally grateful.

Pic of boiler controls - in case it helps.

The black valves directly under the boiler are not what you need.
Have a look around, particularly in the hot press for something like this...

I have a potterton boiler, nothing but trouble!

Anyway, look for the silver pipe, as the above PIC shows, mine is in thge hot press.
Turn valve, or if like mine, the screw, a tiny bit, should let water in to top up system. Should bring pressure up.

I had the similar issue this morning. Found the valve in the hot press and increased the pressure up to 2. Everything seemed normal and i turned on the heating and hot water - all is well.
I looked at the pressure when the heating is on and i can see that the pressure is gone up to 3, is this normal or should it stay under 2.5 regardless of whether the heating is on or off ?

Ideally when the system is cold the pressure reading should be 1.25 - 1 5 bar.
When the heating is turned on, the pressure should not increase by anymore than 0.5 bar.
Increases of more than this can indicate that there may be an issue with the expansion vessel.
Most boilers nowadays are fitted with a pressure relief valve to remove exceess pressure above +/- 3.0 bar. The valve will lift and let water out of the system. When the valve does this the heating system looses water and consequently system pressure, often enough for the boiler to shut down.
If this is the case it is best to have the problem rectified as soon as possible as regular refilling is slowly doing a lot of harm to your heating system.

When cold the pressure is 2.0. When hot the pressure goes up to 3.

Where can i find the valve to release some water/pressure?

The boiler is Promax System 24 HE Plus.

    Thank you for your help

@bbari, bleed a radiator to reduce pressure (cold fill 0.5 bar per storey)

    Potterton Performa (System) user manual
Can't see you exact model in pic (blurred) but this user guide is the same for your boiler

Thanks a lot for your help.

I bled water from 2 radiators and brought the pressure down to 1.4 on cold.

Hopefully it won't go higher than 2.5 when on.

    Thanks again both of you
