Gearbest EU Warehouse

    Hi,

Does anyone have experience buying from the "EU Warehouse" section of their website? It claims fast free delivery (3-5 days after dispatch) with no customs duty or VAT.

I ordered last weekend, was dispatched on Tuesday. I messaged them to confirm my delivery was being shipped from Europe and the replied something along the lines of "rest assured it will be dispatched from Europe, however due to the complexity of different countries customs laws we cannot guarantee no extra taxes"

This makes no sense - If it's shipped from EU then there will be no tax. I received a tracking number 4 days ago and its still says "not found".I also paid extra for expedited delivery (I was given no choice at the payment page).

I am doing some research now and it seems they ship from China to an EU hub, and then onto the final destination, which means the customer is charged duty and VAT.

Anyone have any views? Starting to feel like I will be ripped off//

    Thanks

Good to know - did the package originate from China or the EU?

    Thanks

I bought something from their EU Warehouse last month, took about 10 days from order to arrival at my door. It came from the UK via Royal Mail and An Post this end.

What's the tracking number they gave you ? That will tell you if it's coming from UK or China.

Leave out some of the digits if you'd rather not post the tracking number here :)

Yes looks like originated from Ireland, they might have a warehouse in Ireland or could be like amazon, they dispatch from UK but have some agreement with anpost and they give irish tracking numbers

Thanks. Apparently the gearbest tracking numbers can be checked on the One World Express website https://www.aftership.com/courier/oneworldexpress

Mine says it arrived in London Heathrow last Wednesday, and no further updates. I rang One World and they said they dont have my parcel. I told them they did - according to their website and they said they only have paperwork and that my parcel never left China.

I told them it was being shipped from EU and they just told me to follow up with Gearbest.

    Not looking good at all..

When parcels come in from abroad, an post tend to stick their own tracking number on it, I would think that is what you have there. Did gearbest give you a different tracking number ?

No - this is the tracking number supplied by Gearbest. They emailed me last Tuesday telling me the parcel ad been dispatched.

They gave me a link where I could input that tracking number but got no info, only an error message..I saw a post online saying they could be tracked on the One World site and sure enough it worked but it seems the tracking number relates to paperwork only..I paid for expedited delivery from EU, not sure whats going on, ope I get in time for Xmas..

Did you try tracking with that number on the AnPost website ? Looks like an anpost number, but it would see odd, unless as Nava suggested they could have some arrangement where they use AnPost even though it is not originating in Ireland.

    Hi

I was wondering did the item ever arrive from that place? As I was thinking of ordering from them.

    Thanks.
