2012 MacBook Pro Problem

    Hi!

My laptop seems to have turned to from a sprightly young one to an old man over night. I did the first aid in the disk utility and didn't see anything there (I wouldn't really understand it anyway...)
On Wednesday, the cursor started to get all jumpy and it would freeze and any task I performed would take up to a minute or more to perform. There were beachballs all around! It froze a few times and I had to turn the laptop off at least three times.
It was fine yesterday until last night and it did it again so I just turned if off and left it off.
It is quite slow again this morning.

I had to get a new hard drive a few months ago.

Any ideas at all as to where I should begin before paying someone to look at it?

    Thanks!

Did you run Disk First Aid on it from the CD that came with it?

Check to see if Spotlight has taken to re-indexing everything. This happened to me before and my computer slowed down until it finished.

HDD cable gone bad. you'll need to get it replaced.

I didn't get a CD with it. I ran first aid through the disk utility. I'll try it again now as it seems to be working at the moment. It had a rough 30 minutes earlier!
