I have a personal bank account with Halifax bank in UK. I moved to ROI and changed the address on the account to my ROI address.

Can I use this account legally for transactions or do I have to declare it to any office in this country or possibly in UK?

If you earn interest on the account, and if you are now an Irish resident, you need to declare the interest income to the Revenue.
