Tel Aviv on New Years Eve

I'll be with a small family group travelling to the Middle East and on NYE we'll be in Tel Aviv. Can anyone recommend a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere (no shows/no live music) that might be a good place for a long family (no kids, older relatives) dinner?

If a few places spring to mind, then I'd be particularly interested in any where between Meir garden and London Square since we're staying in that area.

I read that NYE is known as Sylvester locally, and has begun to be marked even though it isn't a national holiday. Any tips on public events?
