Started the year with Cydectin, have bought Ridafluke for next round but not given yet and will finished the year off with Trodax or Zanil.

Isn't Zanill just for rumen fluke? Didn't think it killed liver fluke

Zanil kills rumen fluke and adult liver fluke but it's the immature fluke that does the most harm

    Cydectin doesn't kill fluke

    This one does! :D

First year using it, and found it very good. And when ill be using Zanil, will only be adult fluke left to sort.

Exactly, only the Cydectin Triclamox is active against liver fluke including immatures. The vet recommended this one to me in passing earlier this year and I might try it even though I've been happy enough with Fasinex in the past.

I used flukiver this year. last year it was endofluke. try to use a different active ingredient every year so as to reduce the risk of resistance.

Was a bit more expensive but well worth it, ewes never looking better and havent been dry since they got the dose about a month ago!

I try to rotate product/ingredient at every dose, probably a bit OTT for that reason.

Going with Curafluke here, kill all stages of fluke & some worms for good measure

Hadn't come across that one, seems expensive, seems a good dose

There's only one product licensed in Ireland that is active against all 3 stages of liver fluke, triclabendazole.

Fasinex and Endofluke are both triclabendazole, so rotating between them won't help avoid resistance, and Cydectin Triclamox is a combination dose (has moxidectin which is effective against most worms), however only the triclabendazole component is active against liver fluke so again no good for resistance.

The next best dose if you have resistance, or want to switch between drugs to avoid resistance, is something containing closantel (e.g. Flukiver), which kills late immature fluke, or nitroxynil (Trodax), which has fairly similar effects.

Clorsulon/Albendazole/ Oxyclozanide only kill very late immature or adult fluke.

Will bimectin kill fluke ? I have a bottle here left over from the cattle and it would save me getting anything else

Afraid not, bimectin is an ivermectin based injection and works only on worms and nasal bots.

Went to two local merchants yesterday looking for Cydectin Triclamox, neither had it, both said the price puts people off so I went with the old reliable Fasinex.
