    Hello,

I am only 34 years old female and I've been getting Nights Sweats every night or minimum 6 out of 7 days for the last 2 years, so awful, I smell really bad and my hair is wet when I wake up. I have been to the doctor and I have also been to a specialist but both cannot find what is wrong with me. They say it's a virus!!!!

It is really starting to upset me now, I cannot stay over night in anybody's house just in case I have the sweats. I have tried everything I don't know what to do any more.

I don't suffer really from any stress, I have used sage tea, changed my mattress, Quilts, Moved Bedrooms and we have also moved house 6 months ago, I have came off my birth control pill 4 months ago to see if that was the problem and I still have the sweats.
I seem to get 2 really bad bouts a night, I do not wear PJ's in bed, I try stay as cool as possible and it still happens. I wake up cause it is so bad, and my clothes and sheets are soaked with sweat. I had to stop eating spicy food and garlic cause they come out through my pours when I sweat and it has ruins my bed clothes so bad that I have to bin them.

I just feel so sorry for my partner cause he has to put up with the problem as well, not nice to sleep beside a sweat box who smells every night.

I don't sweat at all during the day or I don't get night sweats if I'm on a night out and have lots of alcohol

Does anyone out there know who I could go to get a second opinion on this?
I really can't cope with it any more...

Hi........Try Magnesium Oil spray (Its not really oil).....you can buy or make your own using Magnesium Chloride Flakes, a lot cheaper. You should be able to buy some in a Health Shop I imagine. I make my own and have found it good for a number of issues. Great for underarm deodorant. Might not solve things but I think will help. If you make your own you can just rub it on liberally. Hope this is of some use but worth a try

Have they given you a sleep study? Sometimes night sweats can be a symptom of sleep apnea which is a condition where you stop breathing in your sleep. Women often present differently to men with apnea, so it can be harder to diagnose.

No I have never got that done, Can I ask my doctor to do that for me?

Your GP would have to refer you to a hospital that does sleep studies. The consultant at the hospital will assess your symptoms and decide if you need a sleep study or not.

Hubby gets them too for as long as I can remember. I change our pillows and duvet more then anyone I know. We go through mattress protectors like there's no tomorrow and can only use dark coloured bed clothes as light ones stain....
I say he has it as long as I can remember but he didn't when we dated and we shared a single bed for months. It's in the last 6/7 years though and when I said he should get checked he said his dad n bro are the same. We've a lil boy now and he wakes up soaked no matter how cool his room is, he does be cold and sweating it's so nerve wracking but we've yet to find anything that keeps it at bay.
Will try the magnesium suggestion though. Best of luck in your search.
