Not unless you are looking at a full automation set-up. Sonos and similar systems work on an amp per Zone ( room/pair of speakers ) . So if you want "x" number of rooms playing independent music your doing to need a Sonos amp per room.

Multi speaker amps come in a couple of variations 1: Multi speaker - 2/3/4+ pairs of speakers all on , running the same source which can be only switched off at the amp. 2: Multi source amp's which can take multiple in and multiple out eg CD in kitchen and Tuner in sitting room but get very expensive if you want to control them remotely ( other than point a remote/ switch source etc)

Short answer Sonos Amp(s) are the easiest non time consuming option

I bought a double pack of sonos play1s last week. Haven't opened yet but they're meant to be very good - €400.

ya the sonos do make life easy. the quality migh not be 100 percent but then we just want music noise in the rooms. in the sitting roo i will be going surrond sound hard wired so that willl be my main sound quality room
