J1, how old can you be?

    I've been thinking of going away for the summer. I just wondered how old can you be and get a J1?
    Also anyone else had any fun summers that a former landscaper/greenkeeper/gardener. Now mature psychology student might be interested in.
    I like the idea of Italy for the summer, but to be able to speak the language of were ever I go would be good to.
    I don't mind about saving money once I paid my way for the summer.
