Is there much difference in these leagues? Not just the standard but also the social friendly side of things? I find Div6 very friendly, but win most my matches so might be time for the step up.

if you are talking about an club league it will depend on the club but from experience there is always a jump up in standard when you move up a line.
if you can beat every player in your division its definitely time to move up you will improve playing better players and that's what its all about.

from the friendliness side i suppose it depends on the people but if its that same club then i doubt there will be much of a difference.

i played my way up from line 8 to line 2 and i found while the players were friendly on the lower lines on the higher lines not only were they friendly but i went on to make a great number of new friends, they were people i shared a common passion with.

have a go at it and sure if it doesn't suit you go back down.

It is Leinster leagues that I play in. Div 6 and Saturday league.

I suppose a higher league would be also as it would have people who train and not just turn up for matches, loose find that enjoyable.
I find the summer a good time to focus on upping my standard too so come next season I should be well ready for Div 5, but then my club might not have a team.

Very little difference between div 4/5/6 tbh. The standard (and attitude) depends a lot on the club, and the day of the week the league games are(!)

    Aim high and push yourself!
